What is the AXIT Strength testing system?
The AXIT system is an easy, quick, and reliable way to measure performance variables for the general population and athletes who are trying to meet their rehabilitation goals. What are the benefits? The AXIT allows us to perform streamlined objective assessment measurements and helps us give real objective feedback to the client. It also allows us to accurately identify any deficiencies the client may have functionally that is contributing to their injury.
How does it work?
The AXIT system uses three main devices to record the client’s data in real time. These devices include force plates which record variables such as strength and balance. The client will perform functional movements such as squats, lunges and hops and deficiencies can be identified once the data is recorded. The other two devices are force gauges which measure the peak force that a patient can exert in a pushing or pulling motion. These devices allow us to record the client’s strength data and use it as an objective measure so the client can track their progress over time.
Who needs to use it?
The AXIT system can be used for clients who are undergoing post-operative rehabilitation and are working towards increasing their strength and function. The AXIT system can also be used for clients with more chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis who are under-going exercise rehabilitation and are looking towards increasing these variables. Finally, the AXIT system can be used for athletes who are looking towards improving their performance within their desired sport.
